As a child and into adulthood, I've "served" in several capacities including secretary, teacher, hospitality team lead, and security team lead. But it wasn't until my 20's when I experienced the joy of serving others through community outreach.
Since a child, I've had a heart for the homeless community. No particular reason that I can recall, just always have. But overtime, a passion has grown simply for those in need of a second chance. People wanting and trying their best to do better in life in spite of the cards stacked against them.
Humbled by His Grace Ministries (HbHGM) began as a book, and evolved into something more. Knowing personally what it means to have the grace and mercy of God on my side, my mission is now to share the same with others, specifically those often overlooked and/or on a new path of life. I realized early on that I was a different kind of giver, but also that I had a merciful heart.
Over the years, I've had the pleasure of serving people in apartment communities, laundromats, and community functions. It brings so much joy to my heart to put a smile on someone else's face. Without a permanent church home, I still wanted to be able to serve, but didn't think I had the finances or connections to do so.
One of my prayers has always been for God to bless me that I may bless others. Well... part of that being blessed requires me to be a good steward, so once I understood that, I understood the assignment (as people now say).
Since October 2021, He has done just that. Every 3rd Saturday of the month, I feed at a particular organization. This journey began with the residents of Bethlehem House. In July, 2022, I switched to serve the men of Phoenix Recovery Centers of Arkansas.
Please note HbHGM is NOT a 501(c)3. However, if ever led to contribute to the efforts of this outreach ministry, I invite you to complete the donation form. Donations also accepted through $HbHGMinistries (CashApp) or $Kocysha-White (chime).
I thank God for trusting me to serve in this capacity and look forward to expanding.
In the meantime, check out the gallery below of our monthly feedings and men's outreach efforts.
"I Am My Brother's Keeper" is an outreach initiative focused on acknowledging men making a difference at home and/or in the community.
